Q. What types of companies do Market Monitor research?

A. Only active trading sites are included within our data. Although small business are included within the data set, the majority of companies are above SOH level. The database has been developed to include not only head office sites but also important sites such as manufacturing plants, warehousing, data processing and sales/marketing – our aim is to save you money by excluding sites with no potential for business decision making.

Q. How is the data collected and researched?

A. All of the data is collected from publicly available sources such as trade magazines, publications, the internet etc. After collection data is then tele-verified for accuracy before being added to the database for resale.

Q. Is the data validated on a regular basis?

A. All of the data is telephone verified on a rolling cycle over a 12 month period. 70% of the company information has been verified in the last 6 months.

Q. How do you guarantee the quality of your data?

A. Because we are so confident of the quality of our data we offer 50p refund on all qualified goneaways when the data is used within 8 weeks of data supply.

Q. Do you sell consumer (B2C) lists?

A. We do not directly supply B2C data, however you can buy data through our sister company Prospect Swetenhams. Visit their website to find out more.

Q. Is there a minimum order size?

A. £200 on all data whether it is postal, telephone, email or a mixture of the three plus £15 processing fee.

Q. How is the data selectable?

A. Our data is fully selectable by 2003 UK SIC codes (these are very similar to 1992 UK SIC codes and if counts are requested by the 1992 codes we will make the necessary translation into 2003 codes). Also by geographical area (postcode, county, region), job function, job title, employee, turnover, date of update, site status, land of origin, number of sites in group.

Q. Are multiple contacts available at each site?

A. Yes, our data has more than 15 different senior job functions available from you to select from including Sales, Marketing, MD/Senior, Finance, Facilities, Health & Safety.

Q. Is data charged by company or by contact?

A. No, data is charged by the number of contacts purchased, meaning you only pay for the amount of contacts you communicate with.

Q. Do you sell data for foreign owned companies based in the UK?

A. Yes, we hold information on the land of origin on our database.

Q. What level of gone-aways can we expect from your data?

A. Reported returns are less than 1%, when used within 8 weeks of supply.

A. Yes, we hold tele-verified emails on approx 50% of the data, which is increasing daily as we expand our database.

Q. Are email addresses personalised or generic?

A. All of our email address are personal addresses – we do not collect any generic email addresses.

Q. Are email addresses guaranteed?

A. Email addresses are not guaranteed by our normal data guarantees, due to email addresses being undeliverable due to reasons out of our control, for example mailbox full, server down.

Q. Can we search by the number of sites that each company has?

A. Yes, we can search by the number sites a company has as well as the status of sites. We are able to link companies together that are within the same group, as well as companies that are within Super Groups.

Q. Are you able to offer any further research on data lists?

A. Yes, because we have our own inhouse telephone research team we are able to offer the flexibility and resources to run bespoke research projects at cost effective rates. Some examples of additional information we have provided people with is contract renewal dates and additional job function.

A.
